About the Downriver Parenting Institute

The Downriver Parenting Institute (DPI) was established through a generous grant from the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan. The DPI has secured the services of Bob Sornson, Ph.D., internationally recognized author, trainer, speaker, and founder of the Early Learning Foundation. Bob will conduct nine Workshops for parents in the Downriver area.

The workshops will include two phases. Parents can sign up for either or both sessions:

• Managing Behavior in the Home
• Helping Children become Successful Learners

We all want our children to be healthy, successful and ready for whatever their futures hold. Parenting is a challenging job from the beginning, and it becomes even more so in a world with consistently higher expectations, overwhelming options and emerging technologies that can cloud and impact daily family communications. We all ask ourselves, "How can we best encourage our children's social and emotional development along with their lifelong love of learning?"
